| If your now reading this page I presume you know what DDR is and that StepMania is the program used to play DDR on the PC.
Download StepMania
First thing is first, lets install StepMania. Head yourself down to www.stepmania.com and once on the downloads page download StepMania(As of writing just download the top one which was StepMania 3.9 alpha 3 Windows)
Note : If your not using Windows then download the mac or Linux one
Install StepMania
I'll spare you the simpleton talk, basically just double click the file you downloaded, Then the StepMania setup should load and everything is good.
Notes & Tips:
You do NOT have to buy a dancepad and converter to play StepMania, Any keyboard or gamepad is compatible, just head down to options and configure the keys to your choice.
Single - One player, one pad, 4 panels.
Versus - Two players, each with their own pad, 4 panels per pad.
Double - One player using both both pads, 8 panels total.
Couple - Two players, each with their own pad, 4 panels per pad. This mode differs from Versus in that it uses only patterns designed to be interesting for two players (e.g. battles, routines).
Solo - One player, one pad, 6 panels.
Nonstop (aka "Oni") - In this mode, you choose a course of several songs, and play all these songs in a row.
Endless - In this mode, select a group of songs, and play them forever until you fail.
If the BPM is red, that means the speed of the song changes while playing.
You can switch your current theme from the titleMenu with L,L,L,R,R,R,L,R.
You can switch the current announcer from the titleMenu with L,L,R,R,L,R,L,R.
